See you soon!

See you soon!

Have had a few questions, so wanted to share. You’ll get the “official” agenda in a welcome bag at the hotels (or at the bar if I can’t figure out where you’re staying!).

Friday night: Casual, fun night at The Cooperage Bar. Come by whenever you get in. We’ll have BBQ and apparently (surprise) special treats from the parents. We’ll likely be there for a while playing games and catching up! We’ll be upstairs. Text if you’re wondering where we are.

Saturday day: Bourbon Tour group needs to meet at the Home2Suites hotel by 11am to make the bus. So, you have a few hours “free” in the AM. All hotels offer breakfast. The three distilleries we’ll be visiting are Three Boys Farms, Castle & Key, and Woodford Reserve. The horse tour has an earlier start and I know those folks have the info.

Saturday night: The bus will make rounds from the hotels to Buffalo Trace throughout the evening starting at 5:30pm with the last load from Buffalo Trace at 11pm. We’ll likely split into two groups for the tour starting at around 6pm, when the first bus load arrives. Not interested in the tour? Our Giants Room will open early, or grab the second bus loop to join us by 7 for the pics and the cocktail hour. Group pics will happen 7-7:30pm or so, depending on the tour lengths (aka how many questions you all have!).

We’re makin’ it legal at 21!

Yes, 21 years ago, back on 9/1/2001, we met. Sounds corny, but our lives changed that day, and little did we know that the world would change so drastically 10 days later on 9/11. We supported each other then, now flash forward a couple of decades and we’ve even survived a pandemic together!

So, on our 20th anniversary (9/1/2021), up in a favorite spot in the Bay Area, Guerneville on the Russian River in Sonoma county, we decided we’d finally make it legal. Our rings have Blanton’s Bourbon barrel wood inlay and we’ve been fortunate to have the stars aligned to celebrate with you at the distillery where Blanton’s is made, Buffalo Trace, in Frankfort, Kentucky! This whole event just came together recently, so bear with us as we pull together the details. It’s all being coordinated “sites unseen,” so cut us a little slack now and throughout the weekend. We know it’ll come together and we’ll make it work. But the important part is that we can just enjoy some time together… finally!

On Thursday, 9/1/22, the actual day of the 21st anniversary of our meeting, we’ll be at the beautiful San Francisco City Hall under the rotunda to “make it legal.” We then plan to hit some memorable spots around SF. A drink at the bar where we met, the Painted Ladies on Alamo Square near where we lived for almost 20 years, and of course, the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. We have a photographer booked for the afternoon, so hope to be able to share photos with you here and at the party on 9/17. And of course, in whatever incarnation my “infamous” Christmas card will be this year! We’re then headed for some time in Hawaii (Philip’s still never been! - I was there for the marathon twice way back when…) before we head to the Midwest to meet up with all of you!

We’re so excited to see you and celebrate makin’ it legal at 21!

Enjoy this “little” photo gallery down memory lane of the past 2 decades!
